What you need:
2 total size chocolate-covered, caramel/nougat-filled candy bars (such as Snickers), chilled
2 cups milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup corn flour
1 cup vegetable oil
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, corn flour and baking soda then carefully add milk to produce a thin batter. The batter should still be able to abide by the candy bars and not drip off. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet to 350F. Dip candy bars in the batter to coat then deep fry for 2 to 3 minutes or till golden brown. Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing into bit-size pieces.
Fried Cinnamon Fruit Pie
What you need:
1 package frozen prepared pie crusts, thawed and cut into 6 4-inch squares
1 1/2 cups dried apricots
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon confectioner’s sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Place apricot in a saucepan then add just enough water to cover. Bring to a boil then lower heat and simmer until apricots are tender, about half an hour. Reserve tablespoons of the liquid and discard the remainder. Place apricot and reserved liquid in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add in white sugar, butter and cinnamon and pulse again until all ingredients are well-blended. Place 1 tablespoon of apricot mixture in each pie crust square and fold each in half diagonally. Press edges with a fork to seal. Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large pan and cook triangles until golden brown, 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer to serving plate and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar before serving.
